This course is designed to build upon the skills of each student. Students will be safely, introduced to practical concepts, skills, tactics designed to increase speed, efficiency, and accuracy with a rifle. Students will learn defensive shooting skills, positions and strategies and weapon manipulations, target acquisition, target transitions, clearing stoppages for defense while responding to a violent confrontation. This class is designed to help students focus on the core fundamentals of rifle shooting.
This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local laws, and is for experienced shooters. (shooters must be able to show mastery in basic rifle shooting fundamentals and safe rifle and pistol handling) Ammunition: 500rds of carbine and 200 rounds of factory handgun ammo minimum.
Primary Weapon System
• Any functional and practical carbine or rifle chambered in carbine caliber. A secondary weapon system (handgun) 9mm or larger.
• 4 working carbine magazines min.
• At least one carbine magazine pouch, cargo pants or chest rig
• Rifle sling (mandatory)
• 500 rounds of factory rifle ammunition
Secondary Weapon System
• Suitable secondary weapon system (handgun) 9mm or larger.
with all factory safeties intact 9mm or larger
• 3 working magazines
• Pistol pouches that will retain equipment while moving
• Outside the waistband holster, it must cover the trigger guard and fit the gun
• Sturdy belt to support equipment
• 200 rounds of factory pistol ammunition
• Tools and lube to work on your weapon systems
• Clothing suited for range activity and seasonally appropriate
• Baseball style hat (optional)
• Eye pro / Ear pro (electronic preferred)
• Water hydrating device
• Gloves
• Sunscreen/bug spray
• Knee pads (optional)
• Note pad, and pen/pencil
